Spring-Ford Homecoming Game 2005

Many new people found out about Abigail yesterday at Spring-Ford's Homecoming game vs. P.V. Many also stopped by to say hello and mentioned knowing the Stanfields and/or Abigail's cause.

We set up a booth with one of Abigail's pictures (on the phone), a large water jug, flyers, tootsie pops, . . . and ran it from noon to five. We asked for donations of at least two dollars for the wristbands. Some put in much more, but many students scraped just enough together to get the wristband. After paying to get into the game, many students had little money - but tossed in what they had left.

Ali and Zac Miller energetically walked through the bleachers soliciting donations, and Ali did manage to get a bucket at one of the snack stands.

Mr. Hefelfinger talked to us for quite sometime about his annual golf outing run in honor of his late son, who died nine years ago in a tragic situation. Each year, he looks for a local child/family in need to donate $1,000 to. He was very touched and interested, and will be contacting Tori and Grace.

We collected $300 [final total: $316.81], almost to the penny and gave out under 100 wristbands.

Perk Valley's uniforms were the same color as the wristbands - bright orange - Spring-Ford pulled off a win in overtime :)

It was great that Dr. Hurda allowed us to collect at a district function. Thank you for contacting her Kathy Henry!
